This is is currently my favourite way to paint my nails: Newspaper nails!

It's so easy to do, yet creates a really cute and unique effect.

How to do it:

1. Start by filing your nails into the desired shape and applying a base coat.

2. Use a colour that is light enough to show the newspaper print on it. Here I have used e.l.f. Champagne nail polish in the top picture and e.l.f. Mint Cream in the bottom.

3. Apply as many coats as necessary to create a good colour. Ensure it dries completely.

4. Next, cut some newspaper into squares that are around the size of your nail, but slightly bigger.

5. Put some vodka or surgical spirit into an egg cup or similar vessel.

6. You do each finger one by one. Dip the first finger into the vodka and remove. Whilst still wet, press a square of newspaper firmly onto the nail, ensuring you push all around the edges to. Be sure not to slide the paper around! Then, peel it off, and voila! The newspaper print will have transferred.

7. Apply a clear coat of polish to on top of the print. There may be some print left on the skin surrounding the nail, but this will wash off once you have put the clear coat on top.

8. Repeat for every nail!

So, welcome to my blog. It's my first post here, though I also have a Tumblr blog.

Currently spending my day avoiding the lovely weather after extreme suncream fail yesterday- I think it's time to buy some new cream for this year!
